Counselling

Building a stable future

Requires you to discuss upsetting emotions and painful memories. In many ways it is less formal as it allows the opportunity to ‘talk out’ whatever you have on your mind in that moment.

Counsellors are trained to listen ‘intently’ and can then support and guide you towards finding personal meaning from your words. Counselling is described as a talking therapy and many people find it highly beneficial. Initially addressing thoughts can be difficult but as you move through the process you will usually feel better.

To get the most from your counselling sessions:

  • Aim to make them consistent.

  • Some sessions will feel more helpful than others, although difficult sessions often bring positive results

  • Counselling is not a quick fix

  • The counselling process requires a strong relationship between you and your counsellor and a degree of effort on your part

  • These two elements create a successful method to help you resolve your issues.

I am happy to discuss individual concerns and questions in the initial consultation meeting.
